February 14th this year will not only be Valentines Day but it will also be Chinese New Year. As you may or may not know the Chinese calendar is much different than ours and is based on a combination of Lunar and solar movements. As a result New years is on a different date each year.
Also years are represented by animals with 2010 being the year of the Tiger. According to Chinese tradition people born in specific years will have personality traits in common with the animal from that year.
Click on the following link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_New_Year and read a little more about the traditions and ceremonies associate with Chinese New Year. Then find the animal that represents when you were born and read the personality description associated with it.

According to the chinese astrology the water monkey is representative of intelligence and wisdom, flexibility, softness and pliancy. I dont believe alot of what the chinese astrology says about my personality and i dont find alot of what it says to be quite accurate.

I am the water money and I think some of the traits listed are fairly accurate like being very sensitive and prefer not to share their emotions with others. I deffinatly agree that I am easily distracted and hard to get back on track, and when it says that you can be successful only if you commit, and is hard to save money. Although some things I did not agree with are the favourite colors, gems, hobbies, and sutable gifts. But I did overall find it interesting.

I would say that the traits to the water monkey apply to me, I can't put myself in other peoples shoes. I enjoy being around my friends, family and others. And I guess I am nosy sometimes although I see it as taking interest.

I am a ‘Metal Sheep’ in Chinese astrology. Metal is known for unyieldingness, rigidity, persistence, strength and determination. Metal Sheep are controlling, ambitious, forceful and set in their ways as metal is very strong; and they are self-reliant and prefer to handle their problems alone. They also are materialistic, business oriented and good at organization and stability. However, they can also appreciate luxury and enjoy the good things in life. Metal Sheep have strong impulses and generative powers and can bring about changes and transformations for those who come into contact with them. The negative emotion associated with metal is grief, while the positive emotion is courage. They often display a tough exterior to hide their caring interior and sensitive emotions. They have a tendency to be overprotective and vulnerable as they like to treat others like they want to be treated. The main characteristics of Metal Sheep are smart, artistic kind, happy, reserved, insecure and dependent. I agree to most, except I think I am not very artistic and pretty secure with who I am. Some of these might be attributed to the fact I am close to the year of the Water Monkey, so some of the attributes may be closer to that then that of the Metal Sheep.
ReplyDeleteAll in all I believe that the description of my chinese zodiac is somewhat off. While it says i wear a game face, I believe that I don't come off like that. However, many people can take what they heard from their descriptions and apply it to many parts in their life that fit the description. "To each their own".

The chinese zodiak is more often right then wrong but it has been known to occur. I believe that the description of the Water Monkey suits me just fine. It symbolizes stillness and peace with wisdom and intelligence. I find this most stimulating in a roundabout way. N.H.
ReplyDeleteI dont really think i follow the personality of the water monkey. in chinese astrology, the water monkey represents someone who is a born leader and has a craving for being the center of attention. i think i am more of a passive person and not the attention grabbing type. although flexibility is a good trait to have

According to the Chinese astrology I was a water monkey. They say a water monkey is fun-loving people who really enjoy a good time with friends, family or anyone. They love practical jokes and like to play tricks on friends. Which does sound like me a lot although it also says water monkeys cause trouble when bored. But all I do when i am bored is watch tv I try to stay away from trouble. Although it still finds me sometimes so maybe there is a little truth there as well.

I am a water monkey... Water monkeys are said to be sensitive, and are easily hurt by words or actions of others. I'm usually only hurt by the words and actions of people who are close to me, so I can sort of relate to that. Water Monkeys wear a game face to hide their emotions or feelings from others, which I can also relate to. Water monkeys can be consumed with gossip, which is not really me.

I agree with certain things personality traits it said that a water monkey would have. Like the part where is say that I’m easily distracted, and the part where it say it’s hard to save money I believe, but other than that I don’t think so, its states that a water monkey is over abundant, and excitable, I really don’t think that applies to me. Most of the colors are true, I do like them but they are not my favorite. Over all, and very interesting think to do.

The traits listed under water monkey are farely correct but not exactly. The part that says i have trouble choosing something and sticking to it is very true though. The other traits are pretty much accurate too. Although i am not full of fear.

Im a water monkey. I find it...somewhat accurate. I'm not sensitive, I do not get offended easily at all, on one site i found it made water monkeys sound like they have a hidden agenda...totally not like that at all. When it says that we wear a "game face" i so don't have one. But since it symbolizes peace, wisdom, and intelligence that part is true. And i agree with it when it says that I am original and have a bit of flair :P

As a water monkey...I am associated with the planet Mercury, the north, winter and cold, darkness, night and the colour black.
ReplyDeleteI love living in the North of this province, winter is my favourite season, night is my favourite time of the day and I tend to wear a lot of black. "The positive emotion is calmness" I am a very calm person, who doesn't usually let situations around me stress me out or even phase me. I was stoked about the "intelligence and wisdom," I would consider myself to be generally intelligent. "Water overcomes fire", hell yeah! What can overcome fire? Water monkeys of course!!! "Water usually represents wealth and money luck".....lets hope so.

I am a METAL SHEEP. I think that some of the traits are correct. I have strength and determination. The metal person is controlling, ambitious, forceful and set in their ways as metal is very strong. If i have my mind set on something then i will go through with it. I am business oriented and good at organization. However the metal person can also appreciate luxury and enjoy the good things in life. I really apprciate the luxurys and I will always enjoy the little and good things in life.

I am a metal sheep I think this suits my personality, or a least about 50% of it does.

I think it is accurate in some points but most of these things tell you really broad things about yourself. Like it is really easy to associate yourself with zodiak descriptions even if you don't read your own.

I find that the traits listed are actually pretty close to my personality. Even though not all the info is right it's still pretty cool that at least a little bit of it is accurate for everyone. Apparently "water usually represents wealth and money luck," I hope this trait will soon be one of mine haha.

I was definately born in the wrong year...I dislike the north, hate cold and winter and I don't really like the dark! In a lot of things I'm not "soft or pliable", I'm really quite stubborn!
ReplyDeleteFor my sign it said " is the low point of the matter, or the matter's dying or hiding stage" , well I'm not sure what to think about that," intelligence and wisdom, flexibility ", I can agree with that along with, "over-abundance of the element is said to cause difficulty in choosing something and sticking to it " think can sum me up in many ways. A good generalization of people born in that year.
